Meninism : Male rights. Do they really exist?

Meninism : Male rights. Do they really exist?

Wow! the first word I wrote for this article make me think again. As soon as I wrote meninism a red line appeared indicating the misspelled word and interestingly I cross-checked as it could be a typographical error. But to my surprise it was not and then I wrote another word feminism, which the auto spell checker identified perfectly. The thoughts which I was about to share here has been changed completely. It seems like the facts, I have observed related to the rights of men is too negligible. We all talk about feminism, feminist, women’s liberation, women’s rights, but we have completely ignored women’s counter part. We came across numerous instances and news of harassment and eve teasing. Generally these terms are related to women’s only. Does there no male harassment and male eve teasing? In case your answer is no then give it another thought. Sharing here few of the examples to clarify the above statement.

When the public transports are full whether it’s bus or train, how we expect from gents to offer to their seats to ladies and in some cases they are forcefully ordered by ladies to free the seat and in case someone denies the order he is considered as uncivilized, rude and disrespectful. Now my question is when both have paid the same fair why does anyone have to free their seat just because they are other part of community?

Showing your emotions, crying when you can not handle the pain is considered a symbol of disgrace and weakness if it is done by any male on the another side it is considered as the strongest and purest form for females. With this mentality we have created an environment where they can’t even express their feeling as openly as ladies do, and then we complain that males are stony-hearted with no feelings. Isn’t it a mental and emotional harassment to them?

There must be countless but secrete stories related to male eve teasing and men’s harassment. But they can not raise their voice against it and how can they ? Does anyone trust them ? Does anyone support them ? Simple answer is NO, no one does. Because before understanding the complete case and before getting the facts we our-self conclude: “yeh ladka hai hi aisa – This boy is wrong ” “Essi ki galti hogi – this must be his fault only” “Shakal se hi aisa lagta hai – He looks criminal from his face”.

Everybody must have seen the long queues in front of ATM, banks ticket counters and being a female you have no right to disobey the rules which are applicable for all and start another queue just beacuse you want to seek the advantage be being female. Untill and unless there is already a specific queues for male and female.

Do understand, not every man is bad and not even woman is good. Next time whenever you meet a guy treat him nicely. Allow him to speak his heart out. Do not burden yourself on him, be his support system. Follow the queue and wait for your turn. Politely deny when someone offers you a seat and tell them to sit comfortably. Take a seat when it’s actually free. Pay your bills by your own. The more you think about males and females rights the more mess it will create. Don’t differentiate between men and women. Be human and treat everyone like a human being, treat others the way you want to be treated. If you can’t respect others don’t ever except the same respect for yourself.
